Community Involvement

Infinity is passionate about providing opportunities for our community to come together. We engage in service projects as a team and also welcome volunteers into our practice as young as 8 years old. (If you are interested in volunteering click HERE). By contracting with us, you are helping us help our community. We use a portion of our proceeds every year to assist in our community outreach programs. Our therapists often volunteer for community service projects and bring to the table projects they are passionate about. At Infinity, we believe in community outreach so much that for every hour our staff volunteer, we donate funds to help children with special needs access music therapy.

Quarterly Service Projects

Our goal is to complete at least one community service project each quarter. We have led drum circles at Relay for Life, caroled at a homeless shelter, made gingerbread houses at an emergency shelter, and more. We gladly accept members of the public to help at these events.

Community Music Groups

Every summer we lead a free community music group for children with special needs ages 3-8 at our Southington clinic.  Beginning in 2018, we will be adding a community group for ages 9-13 as well. The groups are led by our job shadow interns under the supervision of a board-certified music therapist and they last for 4-6 weeks.

Internship Programs

We run three different internship programs. Each summer, we accept students to join our practice to learn about the field of music therapy. Up to 6 interns are accepted across three programs We set up a full lecture series, field observations, and more. Our Field Study Students are able to offer free music lessons and free individual music therapy for a handful of children. During the fall, our university affiliated intern is able to offer a variety of individual and group services pro bono through our Financial Assistance program. During the year, we also frequently complete interviews for students considering a career in music therapy.
