What brought Sean to Music Therapy?

“I have always had a passion for music and helping others.  In choir and other ensembles I have been in, I always find myself trying to help others, when they need it, to become the best they can be.  My original focus in school was to go to med school and do music on the side, but after a while, I missed music too much.  I tried majoring in music and psychology at the same time, but it still didn’t feel right.  After my first year in school a friend of mine, who is a music therapist herself, explained to me what music therapy was and I was blown away.  It is the perfect marriage of music and psychology while still being able to go out and help others every day.  After that conversation, I changed my direction to music therapy, and I have never looked back!”
