    Requirements:

    Degree or Equivalency in Music Therapy
    Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) or eligible to take the exam
    Licensed Music Therapist (CT) or intent to obtain
    Valid Driver’s License & Reliable Transportation
    At least 1 year of experience as a full-time music therapist (preferred)
    Background in mental health and/or developmental disorders (preferred)
    Experience with IEPs (and working in educational settings is preferred
    Strong clinical writing and documentation skills

    Responsibilities:

    As a valued member of our clinical team, you will have the opportunity to lead individual and group music therapy sessions with a diverse range of clients, including children and adults with developmental disabilities, mental health disorders, neurological disorders, and wellness needs. Your responsibilities will include creating personalized treatment plans, tracking and analyzing session data, writing detailed clinical reports, managing client schedules, and actively participating in treatment team meetings. Additionally, you may be involved in non-clinical activities, such as teaching music lessons or facilitating music enrichment groups, based on the evolving needs of our clients.

    Hours:

    We are offering part-time (growing to full-time) and per-diem positions to suit a variety of schedules.

    Currently, we’re looking for clinicians who are available to work on a Tuesday-Saturday or Sunday-Thursday schedule, though we are open to other arrangements for the right fit.

    Sessions typically occur between 8:30 AM and 7:30 PM, with start and end times that will vary based on your caseload. Please note, your shift will not span the entire operating hours, so there’s flexibility in your daily schedule.

    We value your time, which is why all work hours are paid—including client contact, travel time, session planning, data/documentation, team meetings, and other essential tasks

    Location:

    Our entire team meets weekly at our Southington clinic for team meetings and supervision, fostering a strong sense of collaboration and support. We are currently seeking clinicians to serve Fairfield County/ New Haven County. Per-diem and part-time clinicians will have the flexibility to pick up short-term cases in various locations, ensuring our team stays supported while you have the chance to take time off for self-care.

    While telehealth services are occasionally requested, the majority of our work takes place in-person, including in schools, nursing homes, day programs, group homes, and other diverse settings. This variety provides an exciting opportunity to engage with different populations and make a meaningful impact across Connecticut.

    Wages:

    Starting at $24.04/hour ($50,000/yr) for entry-level, board-certified clinicians

    We offer higher pay rates for experienced clinicians or those with additional certifications and specialized expertise that enhance their abilities to execute their role. Staff who take on supervisory roles with students or interns, or those in administrative positions, are eligible for a rate differential.  We also offer performance-based bonuses and regular pay reviews to reward hard work and dedication.

    Pay is comprehensive and includes client contact, travel time, session planning, documentation, and other essential duties, ensuring that all aspects of your work are valued and compensated.

      We Definitely Want to Hear from You if…

      You have experience with sign language or adaptive communication devices and are comfortable integrating them into your music therapy practice.

      You’re either trained in or interested in pursuing music therapy-assisted childbirth to expand your skill set.

      You have a solid background in mental health or mental health counseling.

      You’re bilingual, particularly in Spanish, and can communicate effectively with a wide range of clients and families.

      You’ve worked in private practice previously and bring additional certifications or expertise beyond your MT-BC, allowing you to contribute to our team in unique ways.

      You are well-versed in IEPs, IDEA, and advocating for the value of music therapy in multidisciplinary team settings.

      You’ve taken time to reflect on ableism and are committed to dismantling barriers in your practice to create more inclusive and accessible therapeutic environments.


      This Position is NOT for You if…

      You struggle with reliability or organization.

      You get anxious about asking questions or require a lot of supervision for tasks that should be within your scope of competence.

      You are not looking for a long term role or growth opportunities with the team.

      You find decision making challenging or feel overwhelmed with clinical writing.
